by Chris Metcalfe

Frank Burlingham (far right) with senior members of Broadland Aikido Club.

On Saturday the 13th October, Sensei Frank Burlingham of Broadland Aikido Club - 4th Dan IOA, 4th Dan UKA traveled to Crystal Palace to Teach on the national British Aikido Board Course. It is considered a great honor to teach on this course as only the finest teachers are invited to teach on what is considered to the largest course in the United Kingdom.

Above, picture of main Hall Crystal Palace.

Frank has been in Aikido for nearly 30 years and has traveled extensively to learn and study with some of the best instructors in the world. Broadland Aikido club meets on Thursdays 8:00 PM and Sundays 11:00 AM at the Satori Martial Arts Centre in St. Peters Street, Lowestoft.

In addition, Saturday, November 10th, 200, a one day Aikido course took place at the Satori Martial Arts Centre in St. Peters St, Lowestoft, hosted by Broadland Aikido Club.

Three guest instructors traveled from Colchester, Coventry and Shropshire. They were Pat Neary 4th Dan United Kingdom Aikikia Shropshire, Barbara Moss 3rd
DanYama-Arashi UK Coventry and Petra Elliot 2nd Dan Institute of Aikido, Coventry. It was a special occassion to have three such instructors of high standards, proving that finesse beats muscle and the martial arts do not depend on sex or size. The training course, was well attended by over fifty people, traveling form all parts of England to train.
