Hiroshi Kato:  Training at Enchanted Rock State Park in Texas
Part 3
by Matthew OíConnor and Jeannette Lee

Gokyo, Sasha Calderon uke

This trip was quite enlightening.  Katoís visits bring together aikidoka not only from Houston, but from all over Texas.  Bringing weapons training out of the four walls of the dojo shows us how aikido isnít just about oneís self or even about oneís opponent, but about blending with the world around us.  We have much to learn.

Hiroshi Kato is an 8th Dan and a direct student of O'Sensei.  He is Dojo-Cho of Suginami Aikikai in Tokyo, Japan.

Many thanks to Jeanette Lee and our own Matthew O'Connor, and to our friends at Shinkikan Aikido and Shihan Hiroshi Kato.
