Takafumi Takeno, 8th Dan, is Chief Instructor of the
Yamanashi Yoshinkan Headquarters in Kofu, Japan and was also the former Chief Instructor of the Yoshinkan Hombu Dojo in Tokyo, Japan.
Takeno Sensei was one of Gozo Shioda Sensei's top students, having trained with him for over 20 years. Takeno Sensei was accompanied on this trip by Nakagawa Sensei, who is his top student and main uke, and by Darren Friend and Peggy Woo, who are both foreign instructors at the Yoshinkan Hombu Dojo. A detailed article covering these clinics will be published in the next AYC newsletter, which will soon be available online.
