Samurai
Walk
Samurai walk is done on the knees. It was
explained several times to me as a youngster in Aikido class that in old Japan most of the
activities done inside the home or a building was done on the knees such as eating,
discussing business, etc.
In addition to this, most typical Japanese
buildings were never very tall because natural resources such as lumber were very scarce
and costly many years ago, so standing in an erect position was not an option.
Knee-walking or samurai walking was a common practice in family life and combat.
Please be patient. Because of the
intense graphical content of the animated graphic, the picture will take a little more
time to download to your browser. Thank you.
